It's already the middle of March! Here's this week's question:
I've noticed on the Bump that many moms are getting professional pictures done for not only 3,6,9, and 12 months, but also for many holidays. I'm talking about Valentines, St. Patrick's, Easter, etc.
What pictures are you or have you gotten professionally done? What are your opinions on them?
My answer:
I've only done 3, 6/Christmas, and 9 month pictures done. I will be getting his 1 year pictures done as well. I don't think there needs to be professional pics for every single occasion that there are greeting cards for. I will be taking pictures at a St. Patty's Day party I'm having with my playgroup on Tuesday, but I just can't justify spending that money. Now I guess if I were sending out cards for every holiday, maybe, just maybe I would consider a cute professional picture of DS.

I have just done the 3, 6, and 9 months, and I will do her 12 months also.. I haven't done any professional holiday ones.. For the holidays I just take the pictures myself ( it's cheaper ;) )
ReplyDeleteWe had the Newborn ones, 2 months, my friend Sara did the 4 months, I did 6 months/Christmas and we are getting 10 month/Easter pictures taken professionally. My friend Sara is going to do is 1 year pics and pics at his party.
ReplyDeleteI think that I can do just as good a job as some places that do pro pics and I know Sara's turn out better.
I did 5 weeks, 6 months/Christmas, and will do 1 year. We're on a tight budget, so although we'd love to have pictures done more often, we'll just have to settle with the pictures we take at home.
ReplyDeleteWe have not done any professional pictures yet. I plan on having them done for his 1st birthday. We aren't lacking in pictures though! I think I take at least 60 a month :-)
ReplyDeleteWe also haven't done any professional pictures yet. We'll probably do them for her 1st birthday but I've just had a hard time justifying the $$ and I'm not a big fan of the staged backgrounds and poses. Plus I probably take at least 100 'candid' pics a week!!
ReplyDeleteWe did 3 months, Halloween, 6 months/Christmas (same shoot), 9 months (which just happened to be around Valentine's Day), and then we'll do 1 year. So, I guess DS has gotten several holiday pics but only the Halloween ones were especially for the holiday. The Christmas pics happened to be when he was 6m, the Valentine's pics happened to be when he was 9m. I always go to Penneys and always have a coupon so I never pay a lot for the pics.
